Dan is an interventional gastroenterologist in Boise, Idaho, and the founder of Gem State Sports. Inspired by his son Parker's journey after paralysis from acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), Dan saw firsthand the impact adaptive sports can have on strength, confidence, independence, and community.
He started Gem State Sports to create more opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities in Idaho. He now serves as President, working alongside dedicated board-members, families, volunteers, coaches, and community partners to grow adaptive sports programs and expand opportunities for wheelchair athletes.
