The Gem State Falcons are the heart of Idaho’s wheelchair basketball community — and the team every young player in the program is working toward.

Founded in Boise in 2022, the Falcons are a nationally-ranked NWBA Division 3 team for adult athletes 18 and older, competing at a high level while carrying the mission that drives everything Gem State Sports does: empowering people with physical disabilities to live fully and independently.

On the court, the Falcons play the complete game. Athletes compete in NWBA-sanctioned play that demands sharp chair control, tactical offense and defense, real conditioning, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from a team that trains and travels together. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or rolling onto the court for the first time, the Falcons meet you where you are and help you grow into the player you want to be.

But the Falcons are more than a roster. As the flagship of the program, they set the standard — mentoring the Junior Varsity and Prep athletes coming up behind them and showing what’s possible through sport. That leadership is woven into the team’s identity: every Falcon is both a competitor and a role model.

And the door is open. Enrollment for adult athletes 18 and older is free, so whether you’re chasing national competition or looking for community, teammates, and a reason to push yourself, the Gem State Falcons are ready for you.
