Joyce is an elementary school teacher with the Boise School District. Her commitment to adaptive sports began when her daughter, a dedicated athlete, could no longer participate in stand-up sports due to medical reasons in high school. Transitioning to adaptive athletics allowed her daughter to keep playing the sports she loved, and the experience was life changing.
Since the founding of the Gem State Falcons NWBA basketball team, Joyce has been integral to the program, helping build it from the ground up. From working behind the scenes to traveling for tournaments, she has witnessed firsthand the confidence, friendships, and independence adaptive sports provide.
As Director of Community Outreach for Gem State Sports, Joyce is committed to building community partnerships, raising awareness, and expanding opportunities for athletes of all ages. She believes everyone deserves the chance to compete and belong, and she is honored to advance the mission of Gem State Sports.
